Sibu Island

Sibu Island or Pulau Sibu in Malay, while the island is big and it’s like kissing on Pulau Sibu Besar Sibu Island in English mean. Pulau Sibu is actually part of the Seribuat island chain and is located 12 km to the east coast of the western region of Peninsular Malaysia. If you want to get to Pulau Sibu then have to get to Tanjong Leman is the boat to the point of selection. Is approximately 2 hours north of Johor Bahru on the Mersing road. From a bird’s-eye view of the island looks like a triangular hour glass, measured at about 6 km long and 1 km wide.
Visitors to the island you will find that most of the resorts are located in the north east of Pulau Sibu. An interesting fact about the island is that it is solar, so this can attract nature lovers to the island for their holidays.
Pulau Sibu is also a good place to include the popular snorkeling area northeast of the island, or more specifically in Tg Semanggar. A wide variety of fish and corals in this area and is perfect for beginners as well as the area is generally between 30 feet and 40 feet. There are many dive sites located near and around the island where you can take 30 minutes boat ride to these places where you can see different types of marine life up close, like nurse sharks, rays, etc.. If you travel a little further to Pulau Aur and Pulau Permangil which is about an hour away you can even have the chance to see whale sharks and manta rays.
Establishments on the main island open all year except during the months of December and January. The weather is fairly consistent throughout the year not like the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, where the experience monsoons. Temperatures usually average 29 degrees and the air is cool in the evenings.
